Last day in Hanoi/Vietnam
This morning was our last day in Vietnam. We started with a tour of the infamous "Hanoi Hilton" and then another cylco ride through the historic downtown. We then headed to the airport and flew to Cambodia. As Mom said, "The rest of the day involved our hour and a half flight to Cambodia, the entire journey taking from noon until 7:30, air travel being what it is anywhere you go today. The Hanoi airport is the opposite of Hanoi, as it is clean, quiet, efficient. The flight was smooth, the snack was pork with a side of pork, and customs/immigration was a hoot, as you enter the terminal and go to the visa desk, where you pay your $30 each and your passport gets passed down a line of 10 clerks sitting one next to each other, each of whom stamps the visa with an emphatic thud. The final clerk hands back the passports, saying, "Pretty women line up here. Men, go away." I am going to like the Cambodians a lot, I suspect.

Our hotel is a stunner, a luxury resort. We got upgraded, so have a large, very well appointed room (fridge, electric tea kettle, gorgeous china tea service, tub and shower in the huge bathroom, fluffy terry robes, huge balcony with a great view of the pool and grounds, etc.) The furniture is charmingly carved old fashioned teak, but the tv is large, new, flatscreen."

Tomorrow to Angkor temples!
