"Supergirl" Heads to The CW for Season 2
"Supergirl" has been renewed for a second season, but it won't be returning to CBS. According to Variety, the show will get its second season, but only after a move to The CW.

During its first season on CBS, "Supergirl" maintained a 2.5 rating in adults 18-49 as well as 10.03 million viewers on average. Despite being the network's top-rated rookie drama, it still fell behind comedies in the Monday night timeslot.

Thanks to the move, "Supergirl" will join her superhero compatriots "Arrow," "The Flash" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," which all air on The CW. Earlier this year, "Supergirl" crossed over with "The Flash," scoring a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.6 million total viewers in L+7.

Last week, a report surfaced claiming that CBS wants "Supergirl" to return, but the $3 million per-episode budget isn't justified by the show's ratings after the show debuted strong back in late October, but the ratings fell by half by the end of the season.
