An adventure with Mom!
Mom flew out today and is staying until Sunday. We did several things today including touring the Hunter House Victorian Museum and the Hermitage Gardens and house. However, the coolest thing we did was go to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens to see Lantern Asia!

Blurb on what it is: Experience the much anticipated LanternAsia - Art by Day, Magic by Night. Walk through a mile of colossal Asian works of art transforming the Garden's landscape - mesmerizing guests of all ages. Lantern Festivals are an ancient tradition that began more than 2,000 years ago in China. Tianyu Culture Communication located in Zigong, China is bringing this extraordinary event to the Garden. They have traveled to Beijing, Sydney, and Rotterdam. This magnificent lantern exhibition will leave guests awestruck in Virginia for the first time - Ever!

We started around 5:30, which was perfect because it was still light out and there weren't many people there. We were able to see the lanterns up close and really see the craftsmanship. Then we took a short break in the main building and went out as it got dark. The designs were even more amazing at night! Below are two of my favorite pictures:

Totally worth a visit!
