First day of school

301 Endless Yard sale

Mom flew out yesterday and we drove out to Wilson, NC. Today we went on the 301 Endless Yard sale. While it seemed like a good idea in the abstract, after about 2 hours we had enough. We started at the fair ground, which was nicely laid out with about a dozen or so different vendors. Sadly, after that you had to drive up and down 301 and stop whenever you saw something. Overall, a fair amount of junk. I did get two cake pans and a large wooden storage box.

We were suppose to stay in Emporia, but changed plans and drove back to Newport News. On route we stopped in at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Apparently there was a huge storm in Richmond on Thursday and they are still cleaning up! Trees were ripped out of the ground and the power was still out! We only had about an hour at the garden, but that was perfect. They have a lego exhibit with about 12 different lego creations around the gardens. Very neat!

We drove back to the apartment and then spent the afternoon running errands and shopping. A lovely day!
