First day of school

The Long Island Ducks!

Tonight I went to another Long Island Duck's Game (That's two in the past week! Woah!)

We mainly went because Ian had never been to a Duck's game and is a huge fan of Timo Perez. For all of you who don't know, Timo is apparently famous:

The former Major Leaguer begins his first season in the Atlantic League and 16th season in professional baseball. Perez has spent eight seasons at the Major League level with the New York Mets (2000-03), Chicago White Sox (2004-05), St. Louis Cardinals (2006) and Detroit Tigers (2008). He has reached the World Series twice, winning the 2005 Fall Classic as a member of the White Sox. The 37-year-old has a career .269 average in 603 big league games with 26 home runs, 185 RBI, 187 runs and 91 doubles.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Perez was a .304 hitter and All-Star with Toledo (AAA, Tigers) in 2011, driving in 50 runs while collecting 32 doubles and 16 stolen bases. In 749 career minor league contests, he has a .315 career average with 74 home runs, 382 RBI, 185 doubles and 109 stolen bases. After spending the first four seasons of his career in Japan, Perez was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Mets in 2000.

Anyway, the game was quite good last night, but sadly the Duck's lost. Overall though, it was a fun experience.
