First day of school

Hugh Jackman is amazing.

Last night Mom and I went to see Hugh Jackman in his one man play, "Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway." It's only running for 10 weeks, so we were lucky to get tickets!

We were up in the top, but our seats were very good. Hugh busted a moved and sang his heart out! A great show overall!

The most interesting part was at the end when they auctioned off his t-shirt for Broadway Cares. We've seen them do this at other shows (Dame Edna auctioned off her glasses, Harvey auctioned off his boa, etc) but this was the highest I've ever seen anyone go! They got two people up to $15,000 and he produced another shirt! They both got the shirt, autographed, and got to meet Hugh. Meaning, he raised $30,000! Can you believe that?! I could pay for another Masters! (They also announced that for only $2500 donation you could come up and meet Hugh.)

Oh yes, and Scarlett Johansson and Uma Thurman were in the audience as well.
HUGH JACKMAN has uniquely balanced a movie and theatre career that has made him a star on Broadway as well as at multiplexes around the world. On stage, he won critical kudos and awards for the Australian productions of Sunset Boulevard and Disney's Beauty and the Beast. In London, he starred in Trevor Nunn's staging of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! at the National Theatre. This was followed by his Broadway debut portraying the 1970s singer-songwriter Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz, for which he received the 2004 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards.
