First day of school

An interesting weekend...

So yesterday Vanessa and I traveled out to Lexington Park, MD to help Andrew move in to his new apartment. The rest of the family was traveling from Virginia Beach (which adds about an hour and half onto their drive) so we left what we thought was later than they did. We stopped at the Farmer's Market in town (not bad, but apparently gets better in the Fall) and then started driving.

Turns out everyone else didn't leave until about noonish, which is when we got there. So, we spent some time hanging out in the surrounding area. We went to a few small stores, a dollar general, a book store, Target, a supermarket, etc... it wasn't until we were leaving Target that it started to rain. Not much, just a drizzle. So, we headed into Micheal's and before we knew it, the skies had opened. It was as if someone was standing above us pouring buckets of water down. We ended up spending almost an hour in Micheal's (it was so sad) before heading to Andrew's. At this point, we didn't know if we were going to drive back to VA, but we weren't able to move any of Andrew's stuff (it was still pouring) so we got dinner. We ate and then the rain had let up enough to allow us to move almost everything. By the time we finished it was almost 8:30, so we decided to stay. However, we didn't have toothbrushes or things along those lines, so we ran over to Walmart (where it started to pour again) and then went back and crashed.

Today we drove back to VA and we are now safely home. Vanessa is cooking up a storm and I am going to start cleaning in a few. We know how to have an exciting Sunday :)
