First day of school

Matt mentioned this song yesterday and now it's in my head...

Ocean Avenue Lyrics

by Yellowcard

There's a place off Ocean Avenue
Where I used to sit and talk with you
We were both 16 and it felt so right
Sleeping all day, staying up all night
Staying up all night

There's a place on the corner of Cherry Street
We would walk on the beach in our bare feet
We were both 18 and it felt so right
Sleeping all day, staying up all night
Staying up all night

If I could find you now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
Let your waves crash down on me and take me away

There's a piece of you that's here with me
It's everywhere I go, it's everything I see
When I sleep, I dream and it gets me by
I can make believe that you're here tonight
That you're here tonight

If I could find you now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together
Let your waves crash down on me and take me away

I remember the look in your eyes
When I told you that this was goodbye
You were begging me not tonight
Not here, not now
We're looking up at the same night sky
And keep pretending the sun will not rise
Be together for one more night
Somewhere, somehow

If I could find you now things would get better
We could leave this town and run forever
I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together
Let your waves crash down on me and take me away
First day of school

my benadryl is kicking in...

My legs look like something attacked them. When I showed them to Holly (the nurse) she freaked out. Never a good sign. Hopefully it’ll go down in a few days, either that or at least the itchy pain will go away.

Anyway, today was a bit crazy, but nothing that bad. I got up, took the girls to breakfast, dropped them off, had a very fast RA meeting and went over to the office. Matt H., Laura and I made signs for the game tonight (the RAs vs. the Instructional staff/TAs in Ultimate Frisbee). It was the Emus (us) vs. the Llamas (instructional staff/TAs) so we made some fun signs. We hung out for a bit and got to see Allie’s Mom and then we all spilt to throw in laundry and do some other stuff before lunch. After lunch Matt H., Laura, Jess and I went over to Sam’s and had coffee/smoothies, which were really good. We hung out there for a bit and played checkers and then returned to school to nap.

We all headed to the office around 3:30 and got the mail and other things. I got my list of girls (I have 7 next session – all in my Dad’s class) and so I can make door tags later on this week. Kim and I are doing the same quilting theme because it’s easy and cute. Then we picked up the girls, brought them back to the dorm to fill out a survey, get their yearbooks and make up a contact information sheet. Then it was off to dinner!

After dinner we played Ultimate Frisbee – and it was intense! Craziness! We ended up tying 13 to 13, but it was a crazy game! The only problem that I had was that a few of the guys wouldn’t pass to the girls at all – which was really annoying! Oh well, it was fun and the girls enjoyed it.

We returned to the dorm and the girls filled out another survey and got their t-shirts. Sarah came in and told me that she wasn’t feeling well. So, I walked her over to the health office, but they couldn’t do anything because she can’t take tums. We returned back to the dorm and she took a quick shower and went to bed early. Hopefully she’ll be fine in the morning. We finally got the girls to go to sleep and Kim and I cleaned up a few things and now here I am, covered in Aveeno and getting sleepy from my Benadryl.

My life is very exciting indeed. Dream well all. J
