First day of school

a boat, a bus, a plane, a car... all to get home

So, I’m back from my cruise and it was tons of fun! J It was a long process to get home today though – I took a boat (the cruise), a bus (the never-ending bus tour… waiting 45 minutes to have the bus driver go on and on and on and on… oy), the plane (we took an earlier flight, but had to wait on line to get through security for over an hour and then the plane was delayed), and then driving home… four forms of transportation… impressive indeed.

Anyway, we took the Norwegian Spirit, which is about five years old. It’s a really nice boat though, and we had a really sweet room! It had a window too! (Not just a porthole, but a real window!) We had a big bathroom and two beds and a big closet. It was really nice. Here’s the link if you feel so inclined to check it out: http://www.ncl.com/fleet/spirit/index.htm

So, Monday we spent at sea and it was a bit cloudy, but that didn’t stop us from sitting outside. I also played BINGO (I lost, so sad indeed) and did some other random activities. Tuesday we were in Georgetown, in the Cayman Islands, which was nice, but most of it had been destroyed by Ivan. It was quite sad actually. We took a driving tour around the island with our tour guide, Rosa, who had stayed in her house during the hurricane and had her house destroyed. Very sad indeed. We went to Hell though (it’s a tourist spot) and the turtle farm… always fun. Wednesday we were in Honduras, which was pretty sad actually… it was poor and the small children were following us around saying, “Lady – dollar, dollar, dollar…” They had some really nice crafts though and the people were very friendly. Thursday we were once again at sea and it was hot and sunny, so we sat out and got tan. And today we returned. Basically, I did work, hung out, tanned, ate and went to random activities (they had a show each night – either singing or magic, and my Mom was making speeches, so I went to those) It was great fun.

And now I’m back and unpacking, doing laundry, and repacking to go back to school tomorrow. I hope everyone else enjoyed their spring break too J
