Once

This afternoon I went to the Ferguson Center to see Once. There were only about 100 people, so everyone was moved down to the Orchestra. I already had box tickets, but we were moved to the front box. The set was a bar and they actually set up an active bar to get drinks prior to the show and during intermission on the stage! They also had the actors and actresses come out and play some songs as if you were at a bar show. Really neat!

Basic plot: A vacuum repairman moonlights as a street musician and hopes for his big break. One day a Czech immigrant approaches him with the news that she is also an aspiring singer-songwriter. The pair decide to collaborate, and the songs that they compose reflect the story of their blossoming love.

Overall it was a lovely show with some great music! A fun way to spend an afternoon.
